Skye Boat Song (斯開島船歌)
這是一首蘇格蘭凱爾特民族風的歌謠，多年前曾在「凱爾特豎琴演奏曲集」(Celtic Harp)中聽過，但之前聽聽它的音樂也就罷了。今天偶然聽到，突然想到，這不是美劇Dexter (台灣譯為「夢靨殺魔」，大陸譯名「嗜血法醫」)中，許多深思及sentimental的橋段會放的曲調嗎? 原來是這首蘇格蘭民謠。
維基一下，發現它是描寫「帥王子查理」Bonnie Prince Charlie率領支持信奉天主教的斯圖亞特王朝在大不列顛王國復辟的「詹姆斯黨」人Jocobites在1745年起事失敗後，記念他逃亡到Skye Iles所寫的歌。

另外網路上有一個相當知識份子型的Dexter影集美國粉絲寫了一大篇影評文章，顯然也是受到此一曲調的感動，她分析為何在該劇許多的橋段中播放這首音樂，還揣測主角Dexter的心境與歷史上Prince Charlie起事有何關聯………直到，一位讀者回覆說劇中的音樂根本不是那首Skye Boat Song，而是Daniel Licht另外寫的曲…

啊，這樣喔? 那烏龍了…我重新找到Dexter劇中音樂重聽，果然跟這首蘇格蘭民謠不太一樣。但且慢，該曲雖然比較短，但聽起來就像是把斯開島船歌整個副歌重複一遍又一遍~ 看來Licht剽竊古人做品也太方便了。
Dexter劇中音樂
這音樂很棒，尤其是在許多的片尾，當Dexter在他掩飾得很好的實驗室法醫身分，與他所愛的妹妹及家人的互動，內心卻必須與自己猙獰的真相拉扯時，那種無奈與斷裂的自我認同，是非常令人動容的。
Loch Lomond (羅夢湖)
說到英國歷史上詹姆斯黨人的起事(Jacobite rebellion)，一直是許多蘇格蘭人永遠的痛。關鍵的Culloden一役，以及之後英格蘭趁勢消滅蘇格蘭氏族與文化與語言，蘇格蘭人把這些寫進了歌裡，做為永遠的證據。其中最有名的一首就是號稱「蘇格蘭非官方國歌」的Loch Lomond。歌詞藉著一個在詹姆斯黨起事失敗後被帶到倫敦處決示眾的蘇格蘭青年之口，向他的愛人表明再也無法見到她了。其中的兩句
"你將走高路(公路)，而我將走低路(陰間之路)，因此我將比你先回到蘇格蘭，
但我和我的愛將不再見面，在那美美的羅夢湖畔。"
...喚起聽者內心一絲疼痛，也喚起了蘇格蘭的國魂...

有一陣子，這首歌常常在我一個人獨自爬山時縈繞腦際，每次聽到，總是熱淚盈眶。這也難怪youtube當中這首歌每一種版本底下的PO文，不外是: “我以身為蘇格蘭人(裔)為榮”，或是 “我愛蘇格蘭!”。以下是Runrig演唱會中這首歌與聽眾的互動。會場中可見人們揮舞著蘇格蘭國旗與蘇格蘭皇家旗。

在聽Runrig版本之前，我聽的是John McDermott的版本。McDermott是蘇裔加拿大人(Nova Scotia省)，長得很像梅爾吉勃遜。讓人懷疑總人口才五百多萬的蘇格蘭人當中，多少都有些親族關係(1750年，就是詹姆斯黨叛變年代，蘇格蘭總人口才125萬人)。小時候讀高伯瑞(John Kenneth Galbraith)的不確定的年代，他書裡半開玩笑地說，蘇格蘭人對於經濟學的影響，以得到諾貝爾經濟學獎的人口比例來說，應該與猶太人並列世界第一。提出國富論的亞當斯密便是蘇格蘭人。而加拿大出生的高伯瑞本人也是。蘇格蘭裔，無論出生何處，國籍為何，給人的印象總是以他們的血統為傲。
