It was a peaceful walk in search of God, after a Sunday service on Sunday afternoon. So I said good-bye to mom and picked up my Canon 60d and headed to the creeks and mountains.

It was a not-so-good-for-picture dusk. Cloudy with occasional sunlight. Warm, breezy, and very humid.

We are between typhoons, so make sure the clothes are dry. In the Tongde alleys.

Typhoon Soala brought huge amount of rain last week, and the roaring Sulfer Creek is still reflecting the saturated soil in the mountains. (On the bridge over Sulfer Creek, between Tianmu and Tongde Parks.)

A late climb of the Tianmu Old Trail. At the beginning of the trail.

My steps started heavy but soon they caught the tempo. Breathe. Sweat. My brain was emptied now and my mind cleared. It’s getting dark, but God is near.

I reached the resting point. And today it’s my destination. It’s the end of Lane 190, 中山北路七段. About 200 meters above sea level, a territory where orchards are becoming villas. Multiple home constructions are underway.

A peek through the fence down at the metropolis in the basin. Good night, Taipei.

This is the vantage point of Tianmu’s residential area. The view is not so good nowadays because some vines have grown thick on the fences, blocking the view. Weeds that grow free for years on the hillside don’t help either. Otherwise you would see half of Taipei Basin with different cities and districts telling their own stories about lives and dreams of their residents, in this capital city of Taipei.
